Here & Safe: Preparing the Global Version of “Na Yeogi Isseo”

by eplus 2026. 6. 15.

A simple safety and location-sharing app for families and trusted people

We are preparing the English version of “Na Yeogi Isseo”, a simple safety and location-sharing app originally developed for Korean users.

The English version is being prepared under the name Here & Safe.

The main purpose of this app is very simple:

Let someone you trust know where you are and how you are doing.

Instead of adding complicated functions, Here & Safe focuses on quick communication, simple status sharing, and easy location confirmation.

What is Here & Safe?

Here & Safe is an app that allows users to send their current location and status to a connected person.

It can be used between family members, friends, guardians, caregivers, or anyone who wants to stay connected in a simple and practical way.

For example, a user can quickly send messages such as:

  • I’m Here
  • I’m OK
  • Doing Fine
  • Not Feeling Great
  • Need Help

Together with the selected status, the app also sends the user’s current location so that the connected person can check where they are.

Why we are developing the English version

The Korean version, Na Yeogi Isseo, was developed first for domestic users.

After the Korean version is released and stabilized, we plan to launch the English version for global users.

The need for a simple safety check app is not limited to one country.

Many people may want an easy way to check in with:

  • elderly parents
  • children
  • family members living alone
  • friends traveling alone
  • people who need occasional safety confirmation
  • trusted contacts in emergency situations

Here & Safe is designed to support these real-life situations with a simple and clear user experience.

Development direction

The English version is not being created by simply translating Korean text into English.

We are carefully adjusting the wording so that English-speaking users can understand the app naturally.

For example, the Korean expression “나 여기 있어” has the meaning of:

  • I am here
  • I am safe
  • You can check my location
  • Please know where I am

That is why the English name Here & Safe was selected.

It is short, clear, and easy to understand.

Main features

1. Send current location

Users can send their current location to a connected person with a single tap.

This helps the other person check where the user is without needing a phone call or long message.

2. Send safety status

Users can select and send their current condition.

The status options are designed to be simple and easy to understand:

  • I’m OK
  • Doing Fine
  • Not Feeling Great
  • Need Help

This makes it easier to communicate quickly, especially when typing a long message is difficult.

3. Quick “I’m Here” button

The I’m Here button allows users to send a simple location message immediately.

This feature is useful when the user simply wants to say:

I am here now. Please check my location.

4. QR-based connection

The app supports QR-based connection between users.

This allows two trusted users to connect more easily without complicated setup.

5. Notification-based confirmation

When a status message is sent, the connected person can receive the information through notification.

This makes the app useful for quick safety checks between connected users.

What has been completed so far

The Korean version of the app has already been developed with the core functions.

For the English version, the following work has been prepared:

  • English app name review
  • English UI text conversion
  • English button labels
  • English popup messages
  • English help messages
  • English notification text
  • English error and guide messages
  • User-friendly wording for English-speaking users
  • Maintaining the existing server structure

The server structure will remain the same, while the user interface and visible text will be adjusted for English-speaking users.

Release plan

The current release plan is as follows:

Step 1. Release and stabilize the Korean version

The Korean version, Na Yeogi Isseo, will be released first.

After release, we will monitor actual usage, fix possible issues, and improve usability.

Step 2. Improve stability and user experience

We will review:

  • location sending stability
  • notification delivery
  • QR connection flow
  • popup messages
  • error handling
  • overall app usability

The goal is to make the app reliable and easy to use.

Step 3. Finalize the English version

After the Korean version becomes stable, we will finalize the English version, Here & Safe.

This includes reviewing all English text again and checking whether the app feels natural for English-speaking users.

Step 4. Prepare Google Play release

The English version will then be prepared for release on Google Play.

If needed, it may be released as a separate global version with its own package name and app listing.

Future improvements

After the first English version is released, we may continue improving the app with additional features.

Possible future improvements include:

  • better connection management
  • improved map display
  • clearer emergency status messages
  • multi-language support
  • more user-friendly guide screens
  • improved notification history
  • caregiver-friendly features

The main direction will remain the same:

Keep the app simple, practical, and useful in real life.

Final thoughts

Here & Safe is not a complicated tracking app.

It is designed as a simple way to share location and safety status with people you trust.

The app started from a small idea:

What if someone could easily say, “I’m here and I’m safe,” with just one tap?

That idea became Na Yeogi Isseo in Korea, and it is now being prepared as Here & Safe for global users.

We will first focus on stabilizing the Korean version, then carefully prepare the English version for release.

Small technology can still be meaningful when it helps people in everyday life.

Here & Safe will continue to be developed with that goal in mind.
