Korea has many beautiful places to visit.

Some are famous tourist destinations, but many others are small gardens, quiet natural parks, local festivals, forest trails, and hidden attractions that are located much closer than we think.

With that idea in mind, I created Near Travel, a simple travel information app designed to help users discover good places, beautiful gardens, natural spots, and local festivals in Korea.

The app helps users find nearby tourist attractions, gardens, natural parks, arboretums, botanical gardens, forest trails, and local festivals based on their current location or a selected area.

The concept is simple:

Korea has many wonderful places to enjoy, from peaceful gardens and scenic parks to seasonal festivals and local cultural events. Near Travel was created to make those places easier to find.

By tapping the current location button, the app searches for travel spots near your GPS location.

You can also enter a location manually. For example, you can type a city name, district name, or famous place in Korea, and the app will search for nearby travel information around that area.

Korea has many beautiful gardens and nature-based destinations.

Near Travel includes a dedicated section for nature and garden-related places, such as:

Current Status: Private Test in Progress

Near Travel is currently available as a private test version on Google Play.

The app can be officially released within about 20 days after completing the required private testing period, but anyone who wants to try it earlier can request access to the private test version.

Since this is still a private test version, some features may be improved before the official release.

Why I Created This App

There are already many travel apps, but I wanted to make something simple and practical.

The purpose of Near Travel is not to create a complicated travel planning app.

Instead, it focuses on helping users quickly answer simple questions:

• What good places are near me?
• Are there any beautiful gardens around this area?
• What festivals are happening this month?
• Is there a natural park or forest trail nearby?
• Where can I go for a short trip in Korea?

Near Travel was developed with the idea that small travel experiences can begin close to home.

Near Travel uses public tourism data provided through open data services.

The app retrieves tourism information, location-based tourist spots, and festival data using public APIs related to Korean travel information.

The main data categories used in the app include:

The current version does not use a separate server or database.
The app directly calls public APIs and displays the results on the screen.
